Welcome to the online catalogue of the Warburg Institute Archive (WIA). At present this catalogue provides information relating to parts of the WIA holdings: the correspondence from 1873 to 1933 (RefNo WIA GC and WIA FC) and the collection of index card boxes (WIA III.2.1.ZK). Entries relating to the two collections are distinguished by their respective RefNo.
The Archive preserves the working materials and papers of the Institute's founder, Aby M. Warburg (1866-1929) and of other distinguished scholars closely associated with the Institute from its days in Hamburg to the present. It also holds the academic and administrative records of the Institute.
