Contentsis pleased that he is meeting friends, eating out etc.; she, on the other hand, likes having evenings at home; she attends concerts, [Friedrich] Huch's lecture; the previous evening she went with Käthe Embden to a wonderful concert in the church St. Petri where [Ernestine] Schumann-Heink sang; [Heinrich] Embden visited Mary and found Max Adolph in very good shape; the children of Emmy Jauch [Emily Jauch] visited Marietta and brought her a picture book with the story of an elephant; describes how Marietta plays with her pretend baby; the previous day Mary visited the parents of Tilli [Mathilde Jolles], the mayor Mönckeberg and his wife; Mary asked whether Mrs. Mönckeberg would visit Tilli [Mathilde Jolles] in Freiburg; Mrs. Mönckeberg will do so only after the arrival of Lulu [Sieveking]'s baby; [the medical doctor] Kanter is very pleased with Hanna's [Johanna Hertz] progress; Philipp, from Berlin, requests a letter of recommendation to Alma Warburg, as they live in the same house; may Mary write it?; the funeral of Siegmund Hinrichsen has taken place the same day
