| Contents | is pleased that the rain has stopped; he has taken enough books with him to spend the time reading; Detta [Marietta Warburg] went with Lola [Magnus?] by car to Kösterberg after school; Mary took Detta's travel bag to Rubenstrasse and took home Detta's school bag; Detta likes to be treated as independent girl; the next day Mary will join Detta with the other two children; she will give Miss Margaret [Thurnham] the day off; Mary had a chat with her at the end of her probationary month; Margaret said that she would like to continue; she only has one problem, Frede, but Mary thinks that as the child grows older the difficulties will pass; Mary spent the previous evening at Charlotte Warburg's, Budges were also there; Max [Warburg] and [Gustav?] Heylbut made so much fun of aunt Malchen [Amalie Goldschmidt] that Henry Budge could not stop laughing; Charlotte has continued with bathing her hands in camomile tea with a good results, the wounds are healing; Warburg will not be able to stay in Max Warburg's house, as Mrs. [Lola] Magnus and her companion Helene Herzfelder will be collected by [Miss] Dora [Magnus] to return to Hamburg; the flat of Mrs. Magnus is being redecorated so that she will stay with Max [Warburg]; would Warburg prefer to stay with Fritz [Warburg]?; Mary will not start asking around before Warburg has answered her; hopes that Warburg will have many opportunities to sail |
