Contentsthanks her for letter of 18/01/1915; the previous day they visited Charlotte Warburg for lunch, then had a look at the Kösterberg album; finds it extremely funny, especially two pictures, where all her sons surround grandmother Charlotte adoringly and the photograph of uncles Max, Paul and Felix showing their bald heads; Charlotte Warburg also told them how [Jan] Veth took up a place on the verandah and painted Charlotte and her husband Moritz; one day, a lady visited and wanted to criticize the painting; she was careless and sat down on Veth's palette; the previous afternoon they visited Hans and Eva [Hertz]; Max Adolph [Warburg], Hans [Hertz] and Paul Schön played soldiers; is very happy that the German navy won a sea battle off Heligoland, despite the fact that the ship 'Blücher' sank, but the British have lost a bigger ship; apologizes for messy writing, Miss Buchsbaum [Amalie Buck] says that 'it is as dark in Max Adolph as outside'
