| Contents | Paul [Warburg] sent her a letter from Baden-Baden, reported on his visit in Kreuzlingen; Paul found that Warburg looked better than before; Puss [Nina Warburg] also wrote, thanked Mary for the pastel painting of Kösterberg; Mary finds it touching how everybody is happy with Mary's 'shabby' little pastel paintings; encloses [Carl Georg] Heise's letter to Mary, which she has replied to; tells him not to worry that his library has been divided up or that it is no longer used; on the contrary, it is growing, many people use it; space is at a premium; Saxl is taking great interest and pride in the library, sees his life's work in making it work and grow until Warburg's return; winter has started, the apple and pear harvest was bad, very few fruits; they had lots of tomatoes, though; she had carnations in window boxes, the goats nibbled everything in the garden; they still have the two young goats from the previous spring, goat Lotte's offsprings, plans to keep them; Detta's [Marietta Warburg's] matron is called Hoffacker; Frede has visitors, the Haff children; Mary visited Mrs. Emilie Rathgen, whose husband Karl Rathgen has died on 06/11/1921; cannot supply Panina's [Paul and Nina Warburg's] address in Paris, but will do so once Max [Warburg] will have told her |
