| Contents | is waiting for Saxl's arrival; hopes that he can stay longer if they are doing scholarly work; on Mrs. Printz, was her maiden name Jürgens?; Warburg has slept badly, is very much looking forward to Saxl's visit; Saxl has arrived, has been away from Hamburg for five weeks; but speaking to him increases Warburg's longing to go back to Hamburg; Max Adolph has promised a long letter, but apart from a long letter about his painting Warburg has not heard from him; no letter from [Heinrich] Embden; Saxl told him about the difficulties with his Habilitation; Ritter schould habe been frank with Saxl if he disapproved of his topic ( Throne of Khosro); nobody should have plotted behind Saxl's back; [Gustav] Pauli mentioned something like this indirectly; fears that Saxl has treated the whole thing too lightly; he also does not seem to get on so will with Panofksy any longer; it is high time that Warburg returns to Hamburg, because he understands his subject; how will the library continue when the annual budget no longer covers the expenses?; it is a pity that the library of [Carl] Robert was not sold to the Bibliothek Warburg; but the house [in Heilwigstrasse] would have been to small; is thinking very much about Lili du Bois-Reymond; at least Lola [du Bois-Reymond] [Lili's daughter] is independent; Wilhelm [Hertz] sent a good letter;greetings to Max Adolph, Frede, Detz [Marietta Warburg], 'Bücherstube' [library staff] |
