Contentsshe has started reading Zola ['Oeuvre']; she has read the book before her marriage, uncle Paul Hertz recommended it; Mary has written two letters of condolences, one to Mrs. Binswanger [wife of Otto Binswanger], the other to Oscara Steffen; Mary learnt of Gustaf Steffen's death from his obituary in a Swedish newspaper; Clara Hertz is translating it; Mary attended a Lessing-Mendelssohn event in Kunsthalle, with a lecture by Cassirer and a concert by [J] Sakom; Frede, Saxl, Winds, [Walter] Solmitz all attended; it was a pity that Bingia [Gertrud Bing] was not there; is very happy that Warburg will visit Anagni; weather in Hamburg is very cold, they had snow; the negotiations [re obtaining photographs of manuscripts] in Paris have stalled, what now?
