| Contents | after having taken Warburg to the railway station, his father [Moritz Warburg] and Max Warburg took a long time to hail a coach; when at last a coach pulled up, the coachman was drunk, the horse was skeletal; the horse shied at the steamtrain, the horse fell and Moritz and Max Warburg had to walk home on foot; on Sunday Max expected two teachers but neither came; he went walking with mother and visited grandmother and aunt Malchen [Amalie Goldschmidt]; the Christmas lunch at grandmother's took two hours, the whole family was in attendance, from Mittelweg, Alsterufer and Rotherbaum; Paul and Max had English lessons with Dr. Michel; greetings to the family in Frankfurt; admonishes him to obey Max Warburg's pieces of advice like not scratching his head etc. |
