| Contents | thanks her and Olga for a letter; tells her that Mary Hertz sent him a New Year card which she had painted herself; reports on August Schmarsow's negotiations in Berlin; next summer Schmarsow will have to return to Breslau, but the following winter he might be able to leave Breslau; Warburg, who is thinking about his dissertation, might go to Breslau for the summer semester; he would like to do so, but fears that the climate there will be bad, just as in Leipzig; [Ernst] Burmeister is getting better; only one day was really critical in his illness, however, the doctor did not fear for the worst; still, Warburg felt how concerned everybody was; on his own plans; it is not certain that he will travel to Nice with [Eugen?] Bauer, since his lectures resume in two days; acknowledges receipt of vat of wine; is pleased that their 'Othello' was performed once more; was the performance the same as in the [Weber] house?; sends his compliments to the Saxon poet; Warburg surprisingly met his friend Gustav Wiengreen, who sends greetings to Warburg's mother; asks where [Gustav?] Heylbut is; requests more money from his father, francs 500, to purchase books and photographs, both of which represent 'lasting value' and will form the foundation of his library and photo collection; he might travel to Rome at Easter; he will need a new hat and a pair of trousers |
