| Contents | Ernst Burmeister's health is improving, but he still cannot live on his own in an apartment; Warburg has such a drive for work, he himself is astonished how quickly he works; he knows he is on the right track, so that he requests more money for books and photographs to have to hand the tools he needs; he is so sure of his work, he will need some four to six years and then he will be able to earn enough to maintain himself; he is not yet decided whether he will go to Bonn or Breslau for the next term; thinks that he might go to Bonn as he received letters from Henry Thode and Professor Kekulé encouraging him to return to Bonn; Henry Thode, Kekulé, Carl Justi and Karl Lamprecht are the four teachers he needs; returns Olga Warburg's silhouette which he would have liked to keep very much, but as it is the only one he thinks it should stay with mother; wants to know the date for Easter; he is certain that he will not have time to visit uncle and aunt [Oppenheim?]; time is passing so fast and there is so much to see!; sends greetings to father, Felix, thanking Felix for forwarding max Warburg's letter, 'Pudel' [Paul Warburg], Olga, Fritz, Ise [Louise Warburg], aunt Mali [Amalie Goldschmidt]; tells Franziska [Jahns] that he is putting on weight again; in the evening the will attend the 'Kaiserdiner', the dinner party in honour of the Emperor, organised by the German colony; it will be an expensive affair, he has to buy a tie, gloves and pay for the food, wine and music |
