Contentsthanks her for a letter in which she describes life in Pöseldorf; thanks his father for an increase in funds; reports proudly that he has earned francs 20 from Fritz Baedeker for six hours' work checking those chapters of his travel guide dealing with the archaeological museum in Florence, a 'purely mechanical work'; forwards the Baedeker letter, as it is the first time that he earned money for his work; with the money he bought a long cherished, but otherwise too expensive English hat; he will be careful with his new hat, as he now knows how hard it is to earn 'Moses and Prophets' [=money]; wants to know when Pesach will be celebrated; Ernst Burmeister visited Warburg for the first time after his illness; Burmeister wants to go to Capri to convalesce; Warburg is quite saddened by the thought that he will have to leave Florence in six weeks; [draft letter by Warburg to Baedeker, 09/01/1889, with III.33.2.1]
