| Contents | acknowledges receipt of her letter which he had requested in his cable; complains that his family has a wrong impression of his life in Strasbourg, otherwise he would receive more letters; he is fully immersed in his writing and studying; he has no time for relaxation; finds conversation with only two of his colleagues, [Paul] Collischonn and [Ernst] Meyer [Ernst Schwedeler-Meyer?], stimulating; he meets Collischonn every Sunday from 3 to 5 pm and from 8 pm onwards; he meets Meyer about four times a week for supper at 8,30 pm; on two evenings Warburg is alone; the weeks pass in 'exciting silence'; a sure sign of lack of energy is when he cannot breathe; he was laughing when he read about the practical joke which was played on aunt Mali [Amalie Goldschmidt]; he wants to have news from his family, he needs 'the contact with the real world'; he cannot demand letters from his grown-up siblings as he has no time to reply to them; but he would like to receive letters from Fritz and Louise Warburg; sends greetings to Moritz Warburg and requests Mark 300 for book purchases; asks her to tell Dr. Adolph [Goldschmidt] confidentially that Warburg has found out the construction principle of the Frankfurt Simonetta head; it goes back to classical authors and is a pendant to 'Primavera'; tells her that he no longer smokes; acknowledges receipt of book trunk |
