Contentshe writes to her because he no longer can carry his load; five months of giving his utmost and his captain, Orff, has declined to promote Warburg and his friend [Fritz] Schemel; Schemel had an accident and hurt his foot, but tried his best despite it; however, his captain does not accept this; Warburg was not promoted because Orff discovered that the uniform buttons were not polished enough and complained that Warburg could not mount his horse fast enough; Warburg spoke about it to his commanding officer, Hardegg, who is a reasonable gentleman; it will not help Warburg, but Warburg needed to say it; is angry that once again he has been told 'no'; he remains a cripple; the best thing he received was Mary's medal
