Contentshis son John wrote him of the family papers Max Warburg has sent to John Warburg; hopes that Max Warburg will be able to see Pius Warburg, so that the family can complete the family tree; John is very persistent and plans to start with learning Hebrew in order to be able to read the inscriptions on the gravestones; John is a linguist, has learnt Swedisch, Italian and Provençal and would learn Hebrew quite quickly if he found a teacher in Cannes; there are not many others news, mentions the 'Home Rule bill' re England and Ireland; politics in France are not much better, people like [Jacques de] Reinach and [Gustave] Eiffel exist everywhere; in one instance the French are leaders - the total corruption of the press; every newspaper can be easily bought, something which does not exist in England; commiserates [Ferd. de] Lesseps, refers to Suez and Panama canals; his children give a dance party for 40 people
