Contentsshe is enthusiastic about Florence; adores the landscape, the art treasures, the air; thanks Warburg for his plan or tour guide which they follow; agrees that it is the correct procedure to start with Giotto and with churches and not with galleries; on early Renaissance painting, on copies and originals, on Botticelli; comments on a marble statue in the Uffizi, called 'Pomone', asks whether it is the goddess of flowers which Warburg wrote about in his PhD; on Botticelli's 'Minerva'; they visited Palazzo Pitti, Accademia, Uffizi; mentions Botticelli's 'Simonetta'; father and mother look at everything, but they seem to understand Dutch art better than Italian art; they visited Fiesole at sunset; Alice [Hallgarten] is in Florence and her care and attention is greatly appreciated; Louise Warburg shows great understanding and taste; Mrs. [Jessie] Hillebrand visited them a second time; Olga has spoken with Elena Krahnstöver; Olga offers to move to Florence, should Warburg decide to move to Florence; she is better understanding than speaking Italian
