| Contents | she is visiting grandmother who is very well; she will stay two to three weeks; it was not easy to part from Nina, but she is pleased that she left Hamburg; everybody wants to know why Warburg cancelled his trip to Japan; they are very interested in his letters and photographs; mentions the art exhibition which was opened in Hamburg shortly before her departure; mentions the quarrel about the poster by Ernst Eitner, very modern and colourful, supported by Lichtwark; the result was that the poster had to be withdrawn; under the chairmanship of Mr. Wichmann of the firm Reese and Wichmann [chocolate factory], a committee was founded to fight against the new direction in art, they specially want to foster a feeling for 'beauty' in Kunstverein; [Justus] Brinckmann also had an article in the newspaper against Wichmann; Nina had invited Mary Hertz to lunch; there will be a Munich beer evening in [Frankfurt] Reuterweg on 21/03/1896; wants to know about his experiences with American women |
