| Contents | informs him of an accident: Louise [Warburg], on her bicycle, knocked down the neighbour Mrs. Nissen, who was waiting for the tramway in Johns Allee; Mrs. Nissen needed stitches on one arm and on the head; Tüngel, Nissen's GP, calmed down Louise who became very excited; two policemen came and questioned Louise, the accident was even mentioned in the Hamburg newspapers without giving names; cyclists have to pass a test in Vienna, which Charlotte finds should be introduced in Hamburg as well; Fritz Warburg sends cheerful letters from Frankfurt, Charlotte forwards his letter to Louise to Warburg; Miss [Selma] Fliess is certain that he has put on weight; the visitors from Vienna are very charming guests, mentions Johanna [Meyer], who looks tolerably well; Vicky [Victor Meyer] is very small for 15, but a nice chap; aunt Rosa [Schiff]'s birthday is the next day; Nina is looking forward to her parents returning to Hamburg in two days; comments on the fee for Warburg's article in 'Pan', Mark 50, finds it 'shabby'; wants to know whether it was the oldest daughter of Salomonsohn who got engaged, Olga does not know which of the two daughters is called Lilly; Olga and Max Warburg visited Amélie Elkan [née Oppenheim] for a performance on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Dr. Oppenheim; hopes that Warburg is less agitated; they are looking forward to John's [Johann Nicolaus Hertz] visit; father is much more calm; counsels patience and courage, all will be well |
