Contents	Max Warburg's letter frightened Max Strack [father of Max L. Strack] as he fears he might come too late with his reply warning him not to get engaged to A. H. [Alice Hallgarten?]; Strack as her former physician knows her and has sympathy, but is convinced that she would not be able to live a married life; the illness which is latent inher, might break out when she is giving birth; claims that the opinion given by Binswanger [Otto Binswanger] to Max Warburg is wrong in every respect; Binswanger is ruled by the wish to liberate A.H. from her 'slavery'; but the way suggested, marriage, is the wrong way; Binswanger's powers of suggestion are such that people simply do not accept the negative aspects of his diagnosis; both parents of A. H. had mental illnesses triggered by syphilis; brother and sister have mental illnesses, the whole family is 'degenerate'; A. H. is still different from her family, but mental illness runs in her family; tells Max and his sister Olga as friends of A. H. to make her life as agreeable as possible, but implores him not to marry A. H.; Max Warburg can show Strack's letter to his parents, also to Engel-Reimers; Engel-Reimers will confirm Strack's views; requests a reply from Max Warburg
