Contentsis pleased that her parcel has arrived safely; the headed paper is from her friend Kimmelstiel; explains the use for the silver clip: clipped over a flat plate it acts like a handle, turning the plate into a basket; mentions poor aunt Marie [Maria Elisabeth Hertz]; on 05/01/1898 Mary's brother Adolph Jacob Hertz had lunch with the Warburg family in Hamburg, Wilhelm could not attend as he gave a lecture; Helene and Alice Magnus and Bertha Robinow attended, Paul Ruben; Olli [Olga Warburg] has gone to Altona to meat Alice Magnus as she will return to Vienna soon; they received beautiful photographs from New York of the children Carola and James; the Warburg family organize a dinner dance for Johanna Oppenheim on 19/01/1898; brother Wilhelm Hertz has another lecture then, but will come to the dance; three pen sketches of a female seated [by Mary Warburg?]
