Contentsthanks him for a letter which reached Paul on his return journey from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Kansas City; is very pleased with reading Warburg's news; Warburg should not complain about the teachers in Hamburg; everything has to grow organically, from small beginnings; it is good for Warburg to have deadlines for his lectures; is looking forward to the new book by Warburg; Warburg is doing Felix injustice, Felix has developed greatly; on a comment in Warburg's letter about Paul and Nina Warburg and Friedaflix [Felix and Frieda Warburg] which hurt Friedaflix [Felix and Frieda Warburg] very much; it is only natural that Paul's letters are short, he no longer needs to prove anything; he does not want to write what he is feeling; he does not say that Felix is without fault, everybody, also Warburg, has faults; Paul and Nina Warburg have spoken with Friedaflix [Felix and Frieda Warburg] and explained to them why they moved to New York; Felix thought that Paul made a grave mistake by moving to New York, but this is no longer negotiable; Felix wanted to return to Hamburg right away, nobody can accuse him of 'Yankee recklessness'; is not quite clear what Paul can do to promote the German - US business, likens it to a fight between a lion running free and a bulldog tied by all four legs; sends greetings to Mary's parents, Mary, Marietta; hopes that Warburg will let the matter rest, will understand Paul; wants to know when [Jan] Veth will return to Hamburg; Warburg's comments about Max [Warburg] are not clear enough to Paul
