Contentsthe previous day Mary received Warburg’s letter of 30 November which made her very happy and proud of her “famous, lovely, small black chap”, she is entirely sure that he is on the right path; he just has to make sure to pursue his work in a sound way, which includes a sensible way of life; she wants to support him and protect him from petty details, but that also means that he has to leave to her what she concerns herself with; presently, she can prove it to him that she can deal with these things – children, clothing, etc.; for these she will then bear the responsibility; reports about the children’s activities; the previous day she met Emmy B.[?] in town to look at art; they were disgusted by what was shown at the Kunstverein and enjoyed works by Monet at Cassirer’s gallery and other works at Wisseling’s [Wisselingh?]; mentions Adolph Jauch; there has been a delivery of 100 bottles of red wine from Paul [Warburg]’s wine cellar; she read the article by Ludwig in the Jahrbuch [Gustav Ludwig, ‘Bonifazio di Pitati da Verona, eine archivalische Untersuchung’, Jahrbuch der Königlich Preussischen Kunstsammlungen, 22, 1901 [?]) which she found very interesting; sends love from their children
