| Contents | thanks her for letter, is pleased to read that Detta [Marietta Warburg] is drawing; understands her aversion against flies; the previous day, Sunday, Warburg and André Jolles climbed the garden behind the house in Le Palazzine, the piece of ground leads to a cypress grove from where one can have a wonderful view; hayfever has started; Weeses arrived for lunch; in the afternoon Warburg played with little Henkie [Jolles]; a young Dutch couple on their honeymoon called in the afternoon; Grietje [Jolles] is feeling better, but Warburg does not think that it will last; he will dine with [Robert and Philippine] Davidsohn in the evening; the scholarly output of his work in Florence is still very small; the evening in Mellini's went very well; Gustaf F. Steffen is very well, his wife [Oscara Steffen] did not accompany him; Elsa [a daughter?] is said to be big and charming; Jan Kalf will arrive in Florence shortly, 'Adölphle' [Adolph Goldschmidt] as well |
