| Contents | the weather is getting better; the birthday party for Jim [James Loeb] and Paul [Warburg] on 10/08/1907 was wonderful, the afternoon performance by the children and the evening performance by the adults were wonderful; Fritz played an art dealer, presented some of his works of art, Ribera, Bantzer's 'Tanzbild', a painting by Murillo, which was not bought, Israels and finally an interieur with aunt Mali [Amalie Goldschmidt], played by Alice; Paul, as 'Serenissimus', made a speech; Julius [Derenberg] proposed a toast for [Aby and Mary] Warburg; James, Fritz and Max [Warburg] all spoke very funnily; the previous day they had Japanese visitors, Baron Mitsui, Mr. Komura and Mr. Basuda; Komura and Basuda spoke English; Mr. Bill attended with a lute, sang beautifully; Moritz Warburg left for Berlin the same day, will return the next day; he has to check the accounts of Commercial Bank; Marie Herz, of the gallery Clematis, got engaged to August Held, the manager of the gallery |
