| Contents | the previous evening he had dinner with [Wilhelm] Waetzoldt; Warburg liked him, hopes that the post in Italy [Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz] will come true, otherwise Waetzoldt might go to Posen; reports on the meeting [at the Kunsthistorische Gesellschaft]; Zimmermann [Max Georg Zimmermann?] spoke too long, so that [Carl] Giehlow had less time to speak; but what he said was very interesting; [Adolph] Goldschmidt attended the meeting and many others, also [Heinrich] Wölfflin who asked Warburg whether he could give a lecture at the historical congress [in August 1908]; should Warburg talk about planets?; or should he decide not to give a lecture and let the topic mature; Warburg went with Giehlow to [Hotel] Kempinski for lunch; in the afternoon he visited both [Mr and Mrs] du Bois-Reymond and a cousin; he met [Paul Gustav] Hübner, his new assistant, but does not like him yet; he finished reading 'Jettchen Gebert' |
