Contentshas returned from Modena; he has worked in the library in Modena, saw the [Liber Physiognomiae] Codex; he has solved the riddle of the Sala della Ragione; he will take half a year to write it all up, it will be very interesting; acknowledges receipt of offprints by [F.] Sarre and [J.] Sieveking; on [Carl Georg] Heise, whom Warburg likes, but who needs to learn more; rails against the 'Oberrealschule'; Warburg has to give Heise elementary tuition in matters of scholarship; Heise is sometimes hurt by criticism, but touchingly grateful; it was necessary for Heise to see academic work before he starts university; Bologna is a loud city in contrast to miraculously quiet Venice; Charlotte Warburg sent him a good letter; sends greetings to the children, Mary's mother, Zwester [Nurse Helene Peters] and her fat brother [Adolph Jacob Hertz]
