| Contents | the weather is bad, Venice is full of people, many German tourists; he met Dr. Behn [Hermann Behn? Axel Behne?] and Miss Meyer, both seem to him to be brainless types in 'loden coats'; in the Accademia he met Ernst Schwedeler-Meyer and finds him very good company; they had breakfast together; Warburg also met Lionello Venturi in Accademia who has promised to help him; on a funny incident in the sleeping car, an Italian woman, 'an adventurous snake charmer', was annoyed that her door did not close properly; in the dining car he met a Hofrat von Semfel [?], who has worked on Condini; thanks Mary for letter, Warburg will ask [Wilhelm] Waetzoldt about the work in the new house in Hamburg, moving the books etc.; the lecture by [Hermann] Ranke must have been very good; is pleased that Max Adolph likes school; likes Halliers's plan to go on holiday in The Netherland; Warburg would like to go there too but only if there is no cholera; Warburg met [Paul Gustav] Hübner in Berlin, who will finish his studies shortly; asks her to send him a copy of Warburg's article 'Planetengötterbilder' to Charlottenburg, Kaiser Friedrich Strasse 65; also a copy to [V.] von Loga in Kupferstichkabinett; sends greetings to everybody, also to 'Ruschi' [advertisement flyer of the hotel included, formerly III.69.1.2.no.11] |
