Contentsno mail from her as yet; mail takes a long time, some six days; everything is developing well in Florence, Panconcelli-Calzia is extremely kind, left for Rome, he will have written also to Mary; Warburg spends his time with visiting many people and is received well wherever he goes; earlier in the day he visited [Emilie and Alceste] Giorgetti who were very pleased to see him; Alceste Giorgetti was ill, his wife Emilie was pleased hat Warburg was optimistic; he had a letter from Miss Margaret [Thrunham], she cannot find a post in London and is trying to find a post in Manchester; he also visited [Elena] Krahnstöver who was very pleased to see Warburg; hotel is fine, but not very many visitors; Walther Biehl behaved very understandingly; everybody complains that [Robert and Philippine] Davidsohn are not in Florence, they are right and it is wrong of Davidsohns; on preparing an Italian meeting in the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, in mid February
