Contentsacknowledges receipt of her letter in which were enclosed pencil leads; he also received Mouson soap from the drugstore Germania, other soaps as well which he does not like that much; does she read his letters carefully enough?; in the one, in which he mentioned Villa Matthes, he also expressed his doubts and complaints, but she has not commented upon them; he does not like Professor [P] Weber that much, prefers the Brandis family; Mr. Brandis comes from Bergstedt, is related to Thilo Brandis and Lisbeth Brandis; Doren will visit very soon, before Saxl; [Hans] Berger thinks that Warburg should leave work on the proofs [Luther book] to Saxl; Mary must not allow Lili du Bois-Reymond to stop her from coming to Jena, [Heinrich] Embden needs to accompany her and they have to take him back to Hamburg; he is at the end of his tether; he spends the whole day in a state of undress, is not allowed out, in the evenings he only gets black tea and sleeping pills; he wants nothing else but Mary to come and collect him, is confused; he is not allowed to ring the family in Hamburg, although he wanted to speak with his mother [Charlotte Warburg]
