| Contents | Mary does not write enough about Detta [Marietta Warburg] and Frede; hopes that Miss Dühren will return soon; the previous day, Warburg went for a walk to Villa Matthes with [Paul] Weber, which tired him very much; he disliked the Villa; Weber wanted to view a cupboard with china pieces which he wanted to buy for his museum; Warburg suffered a 'Herzklammer', pains in the heart; his daughter is pitiless, advised Warburg not to complain; if only Warburg could have stayed in the clinic or could have walked in the town!; Hans Berger told Warburg that Max [Warburg] might come in one week, is it true?; Warburg cannot stand the sanatorium, all he does is trying to find out when he will meet his family again; Berger has promised a visit by Mary and the children, but has not said, when; food is poor; he is given sleeping tablets; if only he could speak with his family on the telephone!; Mrs. Brandis will visit him later in the day; Nurse Frieda controls him like Nurse Sophie; Warburg no longer trusts Weber, he, too, is under the influence of the management of the clinic; sends greetings to the children, tells Mary to see to it that they write to him; Berger has not allowed Saxl's visit; mother [Charlotte Warburg] wrote about the Melchior wedding [Olga (Melchior, daughter of Carl Melchior) to Ad. Meyer]; Warburg is very sorry for having made so many difficulties for Mary; if only he would have been spared the illness in 1918 and his time in the Lienau sanatorium!; if only he could return to Hamburg! |
