| Contents | the picture shows a scene of the apple harvest in the Lindig garden; wants to send him a box of apples; thanks him for a postcard; the director of the school has written to Warburg about Max Adolph's essay on van Gogh; the director has not yet marked the essay, he will do so in the autumn holidays and after having looked at more van Gogh paintings; the teacher's comments, that Max Adolph's essay was rubbish, was surely not necessary; the school finished, they had reports, he had some good marks, in maths and PE not so good; encloses the report, Warburg has to sign it; is looking forward to having time for reading, [Maurice] Maeterlinck, for drawing and painting in the autumn holidays; he might also make a tour with uncle Franz, children Eva and Klaus [Lindig] to a Lindig aunt in Lübz; wishes him a good meeting with Franz Boll [Boll, however, did not travel to Hamburg]; he will send the essay after the autumn holidays |
