| Contents | thanks for letters, her answer, the name Podestà [man in Biblioteca Nazionale], was correct; this gives him certainty, that Mary is alive, but it does not mean that she is in Hamburg; if only Mary could visit him for a few weeks, Max or Fritz [Warburg] could accompany her; asks her to send summer garments; complains that he can no longer choose his own clothes to wear; in the afternoon he made a trip with Dr. Heymann [Herrmann Haymann] to Attenberg; Nurse Frieda has to decide whether she will stay or leave, Warburg would be pleased if he could 'emancipate' himself from her, but it might be too soon; wants Mary to come; requests as birthday present a photograph of Mary and Frede together in their garden; he also wants a photograph of Marietta and of Max Adolph; Warburg has sent a list of names to Saxl and asked him to send out his Luther book; wants Mary to copy out line one on page 5; wants Mary to send him a drawing of her; they have taken away a little sculpture by her; what did he lose on the trip from Bremen to Hamburg?; a Dr. Smidt is in Kreuzlingen, he is very ill; thanks Mary for everything; has [Heinrich] Embden showed her the photograph he took of Warburg in Kreuzlingen? |
