Contentsencloses note that Paul and Max [Warburg] are allowed to visits; wants to visit mother in St. Blasien he went for a walk with an English woman and Mrs. Ludwig Binswanger [Hertha Binswanger] who has a calming influence on him; remembers that it was 39 years to the day when it was the worst day of the cholera epidemic in Hamburg; Mary was brave and stayed in Hamburg, Warburg went to Frankfurt, had to join the army; Mary was always the stronger person, he has never thanked her for it; seven years ago, in times of bitter need, they did not move nearer to each other; he has failed his test and therefore he has landed in hell, where he is left without a friend; old [Otto] Binswanger commits judicial murder; [on separate sheet]: note, text of cable, signed by Warburg and Nurse Frieda: Paul's and Max's visit is very welcome
