| Contents | acknowledges receipt of her letter of 24/01/1921, late arrival; all her parcels arrive damaged, the 'Bergerei' has alerted the postal services to annoy Warburg; laundry sent to Hamburg does not need to be returned to Jena, only those items which need to be repaired; orders socks, etc.; accuses Mary of giving in to [Heinrich] Embden, just wanting an easy way out for her; on her planned visit in Jena, she cannot stay on her own in a hotel, there are no 'Pension' in the vicinity, she cannot stay in the sanatorium because it is too filthy; has Mary found somebody to replace Bertha Lindner?; Warburg is supposed to have tea with Bergers in the afternoon, dreads it, [Hans] Berger is false, hostile; the previous day Warburg went to Brandis for tea, but the mother of Nurse Hanna Appelius, who lives with Brandis family, was also there; by now he is well known for his idiosyncracies all over Jena and being mocked, when he is given change he receives the paper money issued by the city of Jena, worthless; what will Frede do after her exams?; the dance performance of Mary Wigmann must have been lovely; Nurse Frieda has birthday; complains that his bathroom is now being used by all other patients, calls it 'horse pond' ['Pferdeschwemme']; on his clothes; orders new pair of trousers from Bethge & Selzer; has Fritz [Warburg] received Warburg's letter, will he come soon?; would Anna [Warburg] or Mrs. Tutu [Petersen] accompany Mary?; sends congratulations to Walther [Hertz]; is very pleased with Saxl's report on his lecture in Berlin; 'Panofsky and Saxl complement each other fabulously'; if only Warburg could work with them in Hamburg; Warburg has written to Charlotte Warburg, Warburg's father was at least able to die at home, with his wife at his side; not many patients in Jena; Saxl should check the Zettelkästen whether there is a reference to a prophecy by [Conrad] Buchwald from Breslau, Brandis is interested in it; have offprints of articles been sent to Brandis and Judeich; whas has [Konrad] Burdach sent?; does the library receive periodicals from the USA again? |
