Contents	he will have received their postcard from Lübeck; Frede and Marietta returned to Hamburg, Mary went with Max Adolph to Plön, to meet Lindigs and Lili du Bois-Reymond; whilst Max Adolph was at school in the morning, Mary visited Lili, they cleaned mushrooms; she saw Fännchen [Fanny du Bois-Reymond, Lili's daughter], harvesting potatoes; Mary enjoyed the exhibitions in Lübeck, in Schabl House and Behn House, then they visited Marienkirche, had lunch in Israelsdorf; in the afternoon they strolled through the forest, then they met [Carl Georg] Heise, Lene [Magdalene Hertz] and son Walther [Hertz] in Catharinenkirche which has been turned into an exhibition venue, Heise has mounted the Nolde exhibition with religious paintings there; she liked the exhibition very much; Max Adolph added greetings, promised a long letter; enjoyed Lübeck very much, in particular the Nolde exhibition
