Contentsis very cross, as he is certain that Max Adolph is on his way to visit Warburg, but Kurt Binswanger will do his utmost to stop him, to intercept mail and to stop Warburg from being shaved; he was given Veronal, ordered to undress, to go to bed; the scoundrel Kurt [Binswanger] is a coward; Warburg has bellyache, maybe from eating the American cakes; is annoyed that beastly Kurt Binswanger writes letters to Mary; Butz has scratched Warburg's hand, which made his shirt bloody, four people held him down, among them [Franz] Alber, Nurse Frieda's friend; has no hope to get well again since the trusses fit so badly; sends greetings to Frede; wants a letter from Marietta; Mary should not think that Nurse Frieda is mad about her dismissal, she has spirited away what she wanted and laughs at him and them; Postscript by Kurt Binswanger, 23/05/1922: the previoous day was a bad day; Warburg has become aggressive, so that he had to be put to bed again; he was given sleeping tablets, he slept well, was less agitated in the morning
