| Contents | he was allowed to get up in the afternoon the previous day; he could go to the fruit stall with Nurse Lydia and Nurse Wieland and also to the chocolate shop of Miss Runge; fears that the cakes are poisoned; gets very agitated when he has to drink milk, apparently so that he would put on weight; has been told that he can only have two newspapers in his room; is missing the 'Hamburger Fremdenblatt' of the previous Sunday, has something been published which would be of interest to Warburg?; he ate too many chocolates, Nurse Lydia forces him to eat so much so that he gets a diabetic reaction; the staff has taken away his furcoat without a receipt; at table, he stretched out his hand to get the water bottle, but got the red wine bottle and served himself; when he realized what he had done he poured the wine back into the bottle, but stained the tablecloth; Mary knows that little details really torture him; why has Mary not replied to his letter in which he asked for photographs of the children of Fritzanna [Fritz and Anna Warburg]?; his hernia is getting worse, is convinced that he ought to have an operation, but is equally convinced that the doctors do not want him to get better; on his furcoat, which is supposed to be treated with camphor: he was given a receipt, dated 01/06/1922, for a coat with musquash lining; but his coat has sable fur lining and a Persian lamb collar - another instance of falsification of documents; Max Adolph thanked him for books, but said nothing about another present; Boll sent a card, signed by Max Adolph as well; sends greetings to Frede, Datzen [Marietta Warburg], 'Bücherstube' [library staff] |
