| Contents | he quarrelled with the Nurse the previous evening, she has provocated him, so that Warburg's letter to Mary was not sent; Ludwig Binswanger has gone to Braunwald, although the previous day his wife was delivered of a boy, Dietrich; does not know whether all these pieces of information are correct; everybody tortures him; on her statement that she lacks self confidence: if she does not have it, then nobody can defend him from Satan; she never lacked courage, but now she does not throw the lifebelt to the drowning man; it is another five weeks till the family will visit him, he can hardly wait; encloses a letter to [Heinrich] Embden to show her the good quality of the stationery; fears that the Binswangerei takes away the good stationery from him; requests envelopes with the stamp of the firm on them; asks her to forward the letter to Embden, but seal it beforehand; if only Mary told him what she is talking about with Max Warburg!; why has she not sent the photograph of Bing?; wonders why he no longer gets letters from Pauli, [Richard] Salomon; he is bored in Kreuzlingen, many patients leave and he has to stay; he wants to go back, will be happy with the smallest 'hole' in Germany; sends greetings to Frede and Datz [Marietta Warburg], Malice [Max and Alice Warburg], 'Bücherstube' [library staff]; could [Wilhelm] Printz visit him?; wants a letter from Wilhelm [Hertz], does not understand why Mary does not reply to his questions |
