| Contents | hopes that Max Adolph's and Boll's letter [31/08/1922] will have cheered up Warburg; is happy that Max Adolph is back in Hamburg, brings life into the serious household; he has a lot to tell about Heidelberg, his trips, plays the flute, harvests plums with Frede; the previous evening she visited [Heinrich] Embden, who has a cold; he will come to Kreuzlingen on 08/10/1922 and will talk with Binswangers; but he said Warburg was not allowed to link the celebrations on the occasion of the silver wedding anniversary to any decision about moving back to Germany; otherwise they would not be allowed to visit him; it sounds harsh, but Embden is right, it would only spoil the celebrations; wants a harmonious celebration; will bring all the things he has requested; does not know how long they will be allowed to stay; Embden will join them from his holiday and will return to his holiday place; she will bring sewing kit, paints for pastel painting; tells him not to agitate himself with details in advance; encloses a card of congratulation to Ludwig Binswanger on the arrival of his son [Dietrich] [not extant]; thanks Nurse Frieda for card [wrong, should be Nurse Lydia]; Max Adolph will visit Max Warburg in the office next day, to speak to him before his departure for the US; Alice does not know whether they will go to Switzerland in the winter |
