| Contents | thanks for his letters and letter from Nurse Lydia; 'Resolute' was originally called 'Bürgermeister O'Swald'; Max Warburg went on board in Cuxhaven, Felix and Frieda in Cherbourg; they stopped at Southampton, met Erich [Warburg] who is working with Kohn-Speyer [in London]; Max Warburg will return by Christmas; it is still unclear whether Malice [Max and Alice Warburg] will go to St. Moritz; Alice has written to Warburg; [Heinrich] Embden has written to Warburg; Mary cannot understand why Warburg still doubts their existence, she sends letters daily, she sends photographs; he will see them all in the flesh on 08/10/1922; Max Adolph could not speak to Max Warburg, as he was busy before his departure; [Wilhelm] Waetzoldt wanted to write to Warburg, of course, he was in Padua or in Ferrara years ago with [Aby and Mary Warburg], she remembers it well; is pleased that he likes the photograph with Bing, Clara Hertz and Frede; Mary likes Bing's face, she is very pleasant and 'fabulously useful in the library', she works on the catalogue; reminds him of the list of items she is supposed to bring him, but cannot promise to bring everything; Max Adolph will enclose a note with his report of his trip to Vienna; Lene [Magdalene Hertz] and [son] Wilhelm [Wilhelm Adolph Hertz] have left in the morning for Lübeck, next day [son] Walther [Hertz] will arrive; Wilhelm [Wilhelm Adolph] has become more elegant, is slimmer, will work in the Evers factory in Lübeck; Mary has bought a Gloria sponge, but without a handle; in the evening she and Max Adolph will attend a lecture by [Hermann Graf] Keyserling, knows alredy that she will be disappointed, but wants to hear him once |
