| Contents | on [Franz] Dornseiff: he came to the library in 1917, recommended by Boll, but only met Mrs. Hintze; Saxl was still away in the army and the family on summer holidays; Dornseiff knows Ritter, does not seem to understand Warburg's predicament, but promised him to accompany him back to Hamburg if need be; congratulates Detta [Marietta Warburg] again, requests a letter from her, written in ink; has checked the attendance list of the Richard Reitzenstein lecture, many names are missing, [Max Albert Wilhelm] Lenz, Mrs. [Nancy] Keutgen, Pauli, Ritter, Franke, Meinhof, [Erich] Ziebarth; what did Reitzenstein say about the library?; wishes Anna [Warburg] a speedy recovery; Dora Magnus wrote about the difficulties with the day permit to cross the border; it is a pity that the family cannot congratulate 'dear old Becker in person'; but didn't she celebrate her 70th birthday the previous year?; the Reitzenstein topic would have been very interesting for [Carl Friedrich Michael] Meinhof; on the proofs of the title page for the lecture invitations; is still waiting for Mary's explanation who lives in which rooms in Heilwigstrasse; Warburg's eyes are bad; Dornseiff's visit was taxing; people have been breaking windows in the sanatorium; sends greetings to Datz [Marietta Warburg], Frede, 'Bücherstube' [library staff]; tells Mary not to carry on with signing her letters with a sketch of the stickman 'Pieter', but if so, she needs to draw him with two swords; it is to the day four years ago that his illness started; if only he could be healed!; encloses a card for Gertrud Zacharias; tells Mary to collect Marietta on 03/11/1922 and to visit and congratulate old Mrs. Becker at the same time |
