| Contents | they have just received the food parcel from Warburg; the chocolates are exquisite; is very grateful and happy that his parcel arrived after Easter, because they were in Deutsch Evern except for the evening before Easter Sunday; is happy with Warburg's report of the evening with Professor [Theodor] Haering, Saxl has also written about it to her; such an evening must have been like an 'oasis' for Warburg; is happy that Saxl is working with Warburg, creates an atmosphere more fitting for Warburg; she has found the book by J. Walter Fewkes about 'Snake Cemeronials' and will forward it; they do not have a book by Voth called 'Snake Ceremonials'; Mary will sew garters for Warburg; she will send elastic bands for Charlotte Warburg's letter file; Cassirer will not travel to Switzerland in the near future, but hopes to visit at a later date, possibly at Whitsun; notes the lecture date, 21/04/1923, Max Adolph will travel to Kreuzlingen and will discuss his study plans with Warburg then and there; Wolfgang Kautzsch is reading German, he makes a good impression, is very slim; 'Empels' [Heinrich und Gertrud Embden] wanted to come to tea, but had to postpone it to next day; Lili du Bois-Reymond cannot visit Mary any longer, she is looking after Lea's oldest child [Lea Horwitz, née du Bois-Reymond, daughter of Lili]; but Mary wants to finish the sculpture in the following week; greetings to Saxl, the 'faithful'; Dets [Marietta Warburg] and Olga Franke met, Frankes will move to Berlin; Frankes' son Peter was killed whilst skiing; Thedda [Marietta Warburg] signs and thanks for Schnoog; Frede signs and thanks for food parcel; Max Adolph signs and thanks for parcel |
