Contentsis very depressed because he is still waiting for Marietta's birthday wishes; does she not have a calendar for birthdays?; where will he meet Max Adolph, on his return journey?; he needs to talk to Max Adolph; is annoyed because Mary does not comment on his pedagogical remarks abouts Max Adolph's attempts at artistic self examination; he does not have enough talent to dispense with tradition; Warburg does not see much progress in Max Adolph's painting, but he concedes a strong temperamt in the reception of the dramatic element in landscapes; suggests that Max Adolph should train with [Wilhelm von] Beckerath or Czeschka in the holidays; if only the group in Worpswede had a solid painter!; could Mary find somebody, is [Friedrich Ahlers-] Hestermann in Hamburg?; thanks Mary for obliging him and opening up the door between his bedroom and the library room; but he preferred it if his Nurse would not live in his house; Biel will help Mary; he does not want that the Nurse sleeps in a bathroom; [Franz] Alber would need to get a room in the basement, a bell needs to be installed; Warburg was given Pantopan, the result is he has constipation; has sent a cable to Detta, is convinced that something has happened to her
