Contentshe was weighed in the morning although the 'traitor' [Nurse Lydia] has promised him he would not have to be weighed this time; he is shocked about Max Adolph's plan to travel to Italy, it is too early for him; tells him, that Warburg does not allow him to travel to Italy before the middle of October because of the heat, cholera, malaria in Venice; Binswangers have arranged a visit by Professor [Gustav Friedrich] Hartlaub of Mannheim, a relative of Binswangers; Warburg and Hartlaub talked for one hour animatedly, but the reaction afterwards was bad; has Mary taken Warburg's letter to Emden, his congratulations, 'Vorträge'?; the reason why he wants Max Adolph to return to Hamburg is for Embden and Mary to examine him; also, the political and economic circumstances in Southern Germany are bad and Warburg wants to meet his children in Hamburg soon; Detta [Marietta Warburg] and Max Adolph need to think about their professional goal, Detta [Marietta Warburg] has to get away from the work in Aschaffenburg, which is nothing for her; could she go to Frankfurt?; Aennes Edinger is there, [Heinz] Marr and many others; Max Adolph has to look around in Hamburg whether he finds a painting teacher; Mary knows that Warburg does not approve of the way his brother Max Warburg deals with reports from the family: he listens to people but does nothing; Mary and Warburg have to form a judgment about Max Adolph very soon; greetings to Datzen [Marietta Warburg], Federchen [Frede Warburg], 'Bücherstube' [library staff]; has [Heinrich] Embden taken the Fortuna medal to be photographed and a new cast of it made?; Doren should get a print or cast; Warburg is shocked that Mary has not heard anything about Detta's [Marietta Warburg's] future plans; demands from her to force Max Adolph to meet up with Marietta c. 15/08/1923; Hammers cannot insist on two more weeks for Marietta; Mary spoils the children too much; sends thanks to Saxl but complains that he did not mention anything about Münz or [Robert] Eisler; has Saxl met Boll?; this is important to Warburg because of [Heinrich] Bodmer; why does Marietta not go to Kiel?; tells Mary not to be so small-minded and stop obeying Binswangers
