Contentson Kurt Binswanger, that Mary has told him that the children would return within three days; he became furious, wrote to Ludwig Binswanger; Kurt Binswanger has been lying; Warburg received a postcard from Max Adolph and one from Marietta, no apologies, not enough postage; Max Adolph wrote from Passau, no news of his travel route; has no sense of obligation; it is a pity that Warburg will not be able to meet Peter Petersen; the political situation in Hamburg is not good; only wants to live in Germany, curses Switzerland; is annoyed that Max Adolph did not send them the route for his walking toure and the name of his companion; is unhappy that the children treat him so heartlessly; is very annoyed with the 'pig' Nurse Neher, who cleans Warburg's suits with soap bark; it stinks!; has Wilhelm [Hertz] gone to Lisbon?; will Fritz [Warburg] visit him?; does Mary still have the new cook?; do the tramways go regularly again?; could [Heinrich] Embden collect him?; continues on 19/08/1923: is very sad because what he has long prophesied, the worsening of the political and economical situation, is used as pretext to make his return journey impossible; explains to her that he is much calmer, that he will eat food he is used to, potatoes, beans, peas, butter, fish, little meat, omelettes; is sad that his children are inconsiderate; Max Adolph was incommunicado for the last week, finds it shocking; finds issue with Mary who does not want Warburg to order his children around; there is a difference between ordering them around and absolute anarchy; he will write to Nuremberg poste restante; is happy to read that the [Ludwig] Binswanger children have visited Mary, although he does not trust Miss Emy [?]; has Emy [?] and Hilde slept in Heilwigstrasse?; he would not have allowed it, but Mary does as she pleases; does Mary condone that Marietta only writes rarely and then only half a postcard?; Warburg wants to escape the sanatorium which has so despicably stopped his return at the end of June; could he move to Freiburg?; he has a good hernia specialist there, the university, [Edmund] Husserl, Marie Cohn, Felix du Bois-Reymond?; wants to leave the country of 'Züricher Zeitung' behind him, which blames Germany; requests new silk socks from home; is Frede still at Kösterberg?; greetings to Datzen [Marietta Warburg] and Frede; is anybody of Max Warburg's family visiting Switzerland?
