Contentsthanks for letter and enclosed card by [Hermann] Joachim [extant, 14/12/1923]; finds the painting ['Hl. Maria im Ährenkleid'] very interesting, Rathe's article about it as well; the pregnant Mary is painted without a halo; the rosary on the head refers to a miracle of the 'Madonna of the ears of corn', like Caterina Visconti, when pregnant; tells Mary to check the book of gemstones by Alfonso, whether a gemstone Celandotis is mentioned; [Heinrich] Embden has arrived and Warburg is waiting for him; Warburg is worried about his feet; Embden has come, they had a good chat, he wants to take him back home, if at all possible; continues on 19/12/1923: the previous day was very good, except for the meals, he had to eat too much; they had a meal with Ludwig Binswanger; thanks Mary for soap, Pebeco, etc.; he is still missing bath shoes; Embden has nothing against the plan to go to Baden-Baden; could Mary write to Mrs. Dr. Heinsheimer [Emma Heinsheimer]?; Warburg wants to stay in a small house, something which Felix would pay for; is Helene Krahnstöver there?; she might be in Florence; thanks Mary for having found letters requested by Warburg, the letter by [Pietro Bono] Avogario is the one he wanted; how simple would everything be, if he himself could check things; on his order for boots, they have to be broader than his old ones; is happy to give his khaki suit to Max Adolph, but thinks that it might be too small for Max Adolph; Embden could not find Mary's picture book in his luggage; complains that the cardboard backed envelopes are not gummed; Embden has got a bad impression of Warburg, he will tell Mary; Warburg wants to move out of the secure unit, but the move to the house Harmonie will be too difficult; Warburg's idea is to move to another sanatorium altogether, with Mary, possibly Hotel Mark near Frankfurt.; Kurt Binswanger has spoken with Embden, made him nervous; Embden only stays for two days, it is a mistake; greetings to Datzen [Marietta Warburg], Feder [Frede Warburg], Max Buttje [Max Adolph Warburg]; Embden adds greetings, 'Aby very well'
