Contentsweather is very good; [Franz] Alber built him book shelves in his hotel room; sends him greetings; is pleased that Mary saw the film about the sculptors; would like to see a similar film to study the methods of his competitors, like Schubring, teaching 'Christmas history of art'; on the tension he feels within his family; Peter Paul [Braden], is like Max Adolph and Saxl, serious, proven by his letter to Warburg's 60th birthday; he is wise and sensitive; but Peter Paul needs to tolerate being criticized by Warburg; summarizes in great detail the 'Braden affair', a letter [by Peter Paul's father] which was only meant to be read by Peter Paul and not by Marietta; calls Carl Braband in Switzerland a 'fiend', complains that Marietta mistrusts Warburg when Warburg wanted to help her; had Warburg known that Peter Paul would show the letter to Marietta, Warburg would have never shown it to Peter Paul in the first place; the female sense for the unimportant rules, etc.etc.; as long as Marietta lives in his house he exercises his paternal 'potestas'; is angry that the Zurich Brabands interpreted Marietta's work in their household as a 'flight' from her father; all he needed was a word from Peter Paul's father; stresses his right as father, he wants to be revered as father looking after the family; if they do not mend their ways, they should be ashamed of themselves; does not allow Mary to show the letter to anybody without Warburg's permission; was very pleased how Mary and Max Adolph [Warburg] welcomed [Julius] von Schlosser
