Contentsher father has received Warburg's letter via John [Johann Nicolaus Hertz] and accepts Warburg's reasoning; her father, however, cannot agree to Warburg's father demands and her father does not want to put it to his sick wife, Mary's mother, to give her permission for Warburg and Mary to getting married; Warburg knows what Mary thinks about it all, but Mary does not think that she can influence her father to change his view; her father cannot accept Warburg's father's demands without losing his self esteem; she is certain that both of them cannot buy their marriage with the concession demanded by Warburg's father; asks him not to become depressed, she is calm and clear-headed; they will travel on to Lands End and Penzance the next day; letters to go to Penzance Post Office
