Contents[first page of covering letter and first draft of 'special report' both dated 10/11/1908, second page of letter written on 12/11/1908 after decision not to send the report; both apparently not sent; second draft of report in Mary's hand, dated 16/11/1908, fol.3 missing, also includes enclosures A and D (B and C missing)] [first page:] five days ago he has received the letters by Schmid, Kautzsch, Goldschmidt and Koetschau; makes four points in relation to their suggestions concerning the congress in Rome 1910 [actual date: 1912]; 1) he agrees in principle with Schmidt concerning a social event; 2) this time there should be [parallel] sections that report during a final session; 3) lectures need to relate in content , need to be open to controll by the committee and present new material in terms of methodology; 4) through a substantial involvement of Italians and the staging of the event in Rome in 1910 can make this a truly international event; [second page:] he will only send the special report once he has received a letter by Hermanin that will feature as an enclosure; he has been able to act swiftly on behalf of the congress; once Kautzsch has received the special report the election of Venturi as delegate should be suggested, Warburg is aware that there are some objections, but believes that the special report will clarify everything; hopes that Hermanin's letter will arrive soon;
