Contentsthe worst director of a university library is director Gerhardt in Halle; the head librarian Schultz [Hans Schulz] has only been in Halle for one term, he previously was in Leipzig; he is a quiet man, annoyed by the bad situation in Halle; Waetzoldt heard about [Robert] Münzel's death in a letter when he himself was asked whether he would want to apply for the post in Hamburg; Waetzoldt is interested in the post and believes that he would be the right man; but from Warburg's letter it is clear that Hamburg is interested in an expert, not a general librarian; it would exclude Waetzoldt's candidacy; he would also regret such a scenario for the future of the Stadtbibliothek
