Contentsexplains why he insists on the publication of the German translation together with the Arabic text of Picatrix just as Boll needed the translation of Abu Ma'shar by Karl Dyroff; only text and translation offer a document which is of help to comparative intellectual history; he therefore does not wish to publish the Arabic text without or before the German translation; it will help Hellmut Ritter more if they pursue their chosen way; asks him to finish the translation as fast as possible but also as conscientious as possible; 'we do not have the right to shake off the ethos of level-headedness' (='Besonnenheit', sophrosyne)
